Report Mail for Protection Group 'Manually added'
Dear all.
Since Update 3 for B&R 9.5 I get every morning at exactly 8am a report mail for the default protection group 'manually added'.
Until now I did not find out where this is configured.
Can somebody help?
Regards
Peter

Hello Peter,
Email report for rescan activity is generated automatically based on Veeam B&R global email notification settings.

Would be great to have more control over this report when it's created and in what case it is sent out.

I believe you can already customize the report time via a registry value.
What control options would you like to have?

Re: Report Mail for Protection Group 'Manually added'
Peter,
Frankly speaking you would like to have granular email notification settings for protection groups instead of global ones? Is the cumulative report for all protection groups works or you would like to see individua report for every protection group? Thanks in advance!

To be able to disable the report would be a nice start Is there a registry value?

Dear Dima.
Actually granular would be maximum, but as JimmyO is mentioning to disable it in the first would be great for now

Re: Report Mail for Protection Group 'Manually added'
Does this mean that it´s not possible to turn the notification off? Not even with a registry hack?

[MERGED] Protection group notification
Not sure if its best to add on here or start a new thread... Had a support case (# 02444162) suggesting I submit a feature request to the forums. After upgrading Veeam to update 3 I am receiving Protection Group notifications everyday and I am looking for a more granular way to control/turn these notification off or a way to control when/how often we receive them(in addition to 'license key update' notifications that I still receive) Even with global notification settings set to 'not notify on success' I still get these notifications. ("[Success] Protection Group Name: no new hosts found") Odd thing too is these notifications all come at different times fairly consistently. Do most people not use these built in email notifications or use an RMM tool or another Veeam solution to handle veeam alerts?

This feature (more granular protection group notification settings) has been already tracked as potential enhancement for one of the next product releases. Thanks.

Just to add to this, with success unticked in global settings, this mail is still generated.
Doe the registry key disable the report?
Thanks,
Ian

Hello Ian,
I’ll double check this behavior with QA team as it does not sound right. Stay tuned.ian0x0r wrote:Just to add to this, with success unticked in global settings, this mail is still generated.
As far as I know there is no registry hack for that.ian0x0r wrote:Doe the registry key disable the report?

[MERGED]Disable Mail Report of the protection group scan
Hello,
is it possible to disable the mail notification of the protection group scan? Or change it not "send mail on failures"?
Best regards

[MERGED] Disable Mail Report of the protection group scan
Hi faust,
Email reports are generated based on your global email notification settings. If you want to disable the email reports for specific protection group you can disable the rescan of this Protection Group (right click the group and hit disable). Granular control over email notifications for protection groups will be provided in the next update. Thanks!

[MERGED] Disable Mail Report of the protection group scan
Hi Dmitry.
Just to let you now, that disabling a protection group does not help. I have disabled a protection group and the mails still are sent out every morning at 8 o'clock... Well.. One good thing has it when these mails are coming... First I know that the mailserver is running and second that it's time for a coffee
Regards
Peter

Re: Report Mail for Protection Group 'Manually added'
Those report mails are very annoying, i only want to be informed if there is a failure in the protection group scan. In the general setting i have configured to get an notification on warning and errors, but still i get this "spam"

[MERGED] Protection group notification settings
Hi all!
B&R Protection group Rescan task sends email notifications with Success status, like that:
[Success] Protection Group Physical Servers: no new hosts found.
Global setting "Notify on success" disabled.
I think that task should use global setting or have there own like other tasks.
Thanks.

[MERGED] turn off the no new hosts found in protection grou
Seems like a very simple and easily implemented option but I really DON'T care that the protection group found no new hosts! I have setup email options in the main B&R General Options area to only notify on failure, why does a protection group under the Physical & Cloud Infrastructure ignore that? Under the protection group I have no way of selecting the notification options I wan't, it just spams me daily based on my scan setting. I'd rather know when I lose a host or something is removed.
