Migrate Oracle VirtualBox VMs to VMWare

Hi. We have a number of Oracle VirtualBox Windows VMs residing on physical Windows desktop PCs. I want to migrate the VMs as easy as possible to our vSphere environment. P2V Converter is pretty slow and cumbersome. Do I have any options here using Veeam? Do I need any particular license to achieve any suggestions? Thanks

Hi there,

You just have to export your VMs as .OVA (I think File/Export Appliance) with virtualbox, then import them in vsphere

I tried that and I had all sorts of problems - couldn't get it working.

Is the Veeam Agent for Windows an option?

you could try vmware converter as well

It's a little vague because it was a few months ago I tried the OVA stuff and frankly I can't remember

Converter does work but it's slow and we have a number of VMs. Just exploring alternatives to Converter

This is a late post to the thread, but you could install the Veeam agents within the VirtualBox VMs and then export the backed up volumes as VMDKs.
