Veeam One Custom Report

Post by aschalk »

Hey,

I want to achieve the following:

A report (via mail) that shows me which vms do not have a tag that is part of the "backup sla" category.
The normal report that comes with veeam shows vms that we purposely excluded too, so that is no option.

Hi,
What about Custom Infrastructure report with object type = VM and columns = Name and Business View group?
Do you have BV groups synchronized with vSphere tags?
Thanks!

Hey,

thanks for the reply! Yes the tags are synchronized ( I can see the tag created in vCenter inside of Veeam ONE)
I tried to test this with one VM but right now the group in the Veeam ONE Monitor business view stays empty and the custom report as described by you above gives no result.
I already triggered the scan over the Veeam ONE Reporter twice but to no avail.
Does it just take it's sweet time?

OK, seems like it just needs some time. Now I can see the VM name + all of it's business groups.
I guess I have to use filters to get the desired outcome ( list VMs without any of the backup sla tags)?

It seems I cannot get this report to work the way I want it to.

For now I used object type = VM and columns = Name and Business View: category
As Filter I configured Buisness View: category does not equal backup sla but it still lists me VMs that have a tag of this category.

How can I get a list of VMs that are not part of this category?

Try to change filter logic from "is not equal" to "not contains".
More simple way is in the same report change "Scope" to "Business View" and choose the desired groups to review.
With object type = VM and columns = Name

Glad it finally works.
By the way, another place to get a list of objects in groups is Workspace tab in Veeam One Business View.
