Feature request - Guest OS credentials

Post by beze »

Hello!

Would it be possible to implement a way for us to allow to set up different credentials for VM's when backing up virtual machines from a vmware folder level?

The issue is that VM folders may contain different kinds of virtual machines, linux and workgroup and domain windows machines. So having only 1 credential is not working solution.

I know i can add all virtual machines from the inventory as individual to the backup job and then specify credentials for each of them. That would work but the backed up VM's are hard to keep up to date. It is simple when you just add the folder to backup job. And when someone for example on different team creates a new vm those are are at least automatically backed up.

Thanks

Hello! It's not very clear what are you proposing. If different VMs in the folder may require different credentials - how can this be addressed except actually setting credentials individually on each computer? Which is already available today. Can you clarify your request please? Thanks.
