Backup Duration Question/Concern

Post by Fratopolis »

So when the veeam agent reads the local C drive it only reads the changes usually around 6-20GB which goes quick shown below

2/4/2018 1:31:22 AM :: SERVEROS 10 (C:) (231.9 GB) 18.5 GB read at 387 MB/s [CBT] 0:00:48

But when it reads the storage drive it reads the entire drive each time causing long backup times shown below.

2/4/2018 1:32:45 AM :: 4x3TB Raid5 (A:) (8.2 TB) 4.5 TB read at 262 MB/s 4:56:35

Am I missing something here?

Hi Mark,

First: Welcome to the forums.

Second: Your drive is in total 8.2TB correct? We read about 4.5 TB. I noticed that CBT is not standing next to that line. Is that correct?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes it is 8.2 and I figured out the CBT driver after I submitted the post. I just do not know how I will install it as this server is a standalone server. Not on the network.

Did you install the server edition?

In that case look here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=21

It is a license. But the server license is not free. I am assuming you are using the free version now?

I have a license. I had it set apparently to workstation, I switched it to Server in the Manage License and Edition under about. But I guess I need a reboot to see the Install CBT option.

Ok, I now see more options in the Configure backup but still no CBT. Hmm, I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Weird the system partitions are using the CBT driver though.

Maybe the two of us are overlooking something really stupid :-). You can always create a support call to have a look at your situation
