Unable to restore items to mailbox
I'm trying to restore some email items to an O365 mailbox, but am running into a bit of a problem.
I have added permissions to the mailbox I am restoring to as per Example 2 here: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/ ... sions.html
I have selected a single email, right clicked it and selected "Restore To..."
I select "The following account" to connect to the Exchange Server
I add the username and password for the account to which I have assigned permissions.
The server is "outlook.office365.com" and I am restoring to the original folder.
I get the error:
"Cannot open mailbox: <user@domain.com>
Failed to get folder properties
The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.
If I login into O365 as the user whose details I am entering into Veeam Explorer for Exchange, and choose "Open another mailbox" I can successfully open the mailbox which I am attempting to restore into.
Veeam Explorer for Exchange is v9.5.0.1536/1308
Any ideas what is going wrong and how I correct it?

Re: Unable to restore items to mailbox
Hi pmansfield,
the link you added talks about restoring email to on-premises permissions.
To restore to O365, you need to use an account that has O365 permissions to that specific account. Opening is not enough.
Please view here for the details: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=15
(Your link is from an older version of the exchange explorer)
Cheers
Mike

Great! May I ask (for the community) what you have done to fix it?

Re: Unable to restore items to mailbox
Thanks for posting the follow-up, I found it after getting the same error and adding the ApplicationImpersonation role on M365 Exchange admin center resolved it (Roles > Admin roles > add role group > add ApplicationImpersonation permissions > add Members).
