Feature request for File Copy Job (Veeam B&R)

Hi,

It would be great to have some sort of notification available also for the "file copy" type of job. Backup, replication and backup copy type of jobs have email and SNMP traps. File copy has nothing.

hi Daniel,
from the console of Veeam Backup Server sends the notifications of the jobs of file copy. It is configured in general options --- Email Settings, These notifications are valid for all types of Backup and Replication jobs

Thank you for your answer.

Do you have a working Veeam B&R and you get notifications from a file copy job? Because I have 10 different deployments of B&R with both email and SNMP settings done in General Configuration and I'm totally sure that none of the defined file copy jobs are sending any kind of notification.

Does work , just tested a file copy job I have:

Make sure you have not disabled Success under E-mail Settings

There is no mystery to email notifications, if general notification is configured and recipient addresses are specified there the notification on file copy jobs will work. But if the general notification options do neither contain any recipients (you normally do this if your jobs have different recipients which are set on each job) nor the proper ones for the file copy job than you will not receive any kind of notification on your file copy jobs. I had the same issue and solved it via a simple Veeam Powershell one-line.

Hello,

in comparison to backup jobs et al file copy job lack the feature enabling a different notification option than using the general one.

File copy jobs are a nice tool eg. for copying the VBR config backup (.BCO) to some other places.
So I think it would be a good idea to have at least the option to get informed of positive file copy jobs when you otherwise have disables success messages in the general options.
