FEATURE REQUEST: Logs automatically created during restore

Post by AlexLeadingEdge »

Hi Veeam,

I would love to see restore logs creation become an automatic process as the restore process is under way. The option to save the logs at the end isn't very helpful if the backup restore fails during the restore.

This will of course also apply to Backup & Replication restores.

Alex,

If we would build this, where would you like to see the logs stored? When you are in the recovery media, most probably not everything is reachable

It's not required to export log file after restore was performed. Veeam RE automatically saves the recovery log file to the repository where your backup file is stored.

Oh dear, now I'm feeling silly. I was looking on the USB flash drive with the Recovery Environment, not on the backup drive!

Feel free to delete this thread.

You should not be - it's a good question. I'll leave this thread as a reference for newcomers, so thank you for asking.
