Snapshot data file already exists!

Post by horizn »

One of the Linux machines has started failing backups. I have stopped Veeam services, removed all stalled veeam files (using chattr -i first). Then restarted and later reinstalled Veeam, but it still failing:

Code: Select all

Same problem at us: Temporary file was created upon 3 different methods (fiemap, fibmap and generic) but something else in the process went wrong. Just opened veeam case ID# 02675397: "No backup performing at all"

Support teached me that for snapshotting reiserfs, ext3 (and 10 other supported filesytems - see https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... ments.html) there has to be provided a separate "helper" partition formatted with with xfs or ext4 or btrfs + specify this snapshot location in the location-line at local /etc/veeam/veeam.ini. That works.
