MAP backup from another veeam server

Hello Everybody,
i'm trying to follow this page: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95 in order to use replica from backup using backups files created from another server.

1.Import the backup to the Veeam Backup & Replication console.
2.Create a new backup job and map the imported backup to it.
3.Create a replication job, enable the Get seed from the following backup repository option and point to the backup repository where the imported backup resides.

i've successfully created the repository pointing to the replica of the backup files from the main site and veeam is able to discover them with no problem:



I know that now I should create a dummy backup job and map the imported backup to it, unfortunately the imported backup are not showing in the map backup window:



What i'm doing wrong? is there some prerequisite a backup should have to be visible in the "map backup" window?

Hi Lorenzo, have you rescanned the repository?

Yes, several time, both from the gui and using:

Code: Select all

asnp VeeamPsSnapin

foreach ($repository in Get-VBRBackupRepository){
    Sync-VBRBackupRepository -repository $repository
}

How have you copied the backup chain to that location? Have you copied VBM files as well?

The copy has been performed by DataDomain Replication.

we also tried to break the replica in order to have the backup file writable, and rescan the repos, but nothing changed.

Make sure VBM file was also replicated, not just the backup chain. Without VBM file mapping is not possible. Feel free to contact support for assistance.
