I have followed the install instructions for the Veeam Linux Agent (free) but when I come to run veem or veeamconfig ui to create a backup job and point it at our Veeam server I get no options to create a job. I get only the following greeter and options to view jobs or recover files..
Veeam Agent for Linux
[Managed by agent]
This application is managed by your system administrator.
Please consider creating custom Veeam Recovery Media now using "veeamconfig
config patchiso" command. Otherwise, you won't be able to perform bare-metal
recovery to a hardware that requires drivers not included in Linux kernel
version 4.4.36
To restore individual files from an existing backup, press [R].
To restore the entire computer or individual volumes, please boot this
computer from Veeam Recovery Media.

Any advise welcome, the system in an Ubuntu LTS 16.04 release and Veeam installed without issue and all dependencies seemed to resolve.
Thanks
CJ
Apparently, your agent was added in agent policy on VBR. First check your VBR console if there are any policies and/or protection groups that include this particular machine. If there are, then remove your agent from policy/protection group and perform veeamconfig mode reset to switch back to Standalone mode.
I fixed this myself.
Had to log into the guest host and run
sudo apt-get purge veeam veeamsnap
Then go into Veeam Console - Inventory, physical infrastructure, manually added
Then Right click Agent, go to Agent in the drop down and choose uninstall components
Then once done, right click go to Agent and install agent
Then delete any backup jobs you made for this Agent
Then create new backup jobs for the Agent and the instance would finally backup
No more
Task failed. Error: Failed to execute agent management command print. sudo: veeamconfig: command not found
