Feature Request - Delegation of Control

Hi,

It would be nice to be able to give a group of users privileges on a group of VMs, to manage backups and restores from the Veeam B&R console. For security reasons, some VMs need to be accessible (backup wise) only by a set of people.

This is an example of what I'm talking about:
There are currently 20 users who have access to Veeam and need to be able to restore all VMs (around 900) except 10. Only 5 highly trusted users need to able to restore these 10 VMs as they contain sensitive information.

So;
20 users need to be able to restore all VMs except the 10 sensitive VMs
5 users need to be able to restore all VMs including the 10 sensitive VMs

I know that Veeam Enterprise Manager has something similar, but this is only available at the highest license "Enterprise Plus" (and this is the only feature we would be using from Enterprise Plus license) and it does not give the facility to restore to a different location. We require that any restore is performed to a staging area first and then manually migrated to the production environment. So maybe one could also take this as another feature request for Veeam Enterprise Manager.

Hi,

Yes we know about that, but, a VM can only be restored to its original location, whilst we would like to restore VMs to a staging environment first. That functionality is in Veeam Enterprise Manager which lacks a lot of functionality, such as restores of AD objects and SharePoint objects.

In addition, for that functionality we need Enterprise Plus license which is not worth it as we don't need any of the other features of Enterprise Plus.
