Veeam VBR Catalog on a Share

Post by falkob »

Hello all,

i have a deployment consisting of 3 Veeam Backup and Replication Servers.

Those 3 Veeam Servers have access to a single "Storage Server" where all Backup Repositories come from.

Now i was thinking of moving the VBR Catalog folder to this "Storage Server". So in fact, i will provide a new volume on this "Storage Server" which will then be shared.

The Registry Key for adjusting the location of the VBR Catalog folder will look something like this then.

\\STORAGE_Server\VEEAM_SERVER1\VBRCatalog
\\STORAGE_Server\VEEAM_SERVER2\VBRCatalog
\\STORAGE_Server\VEEAM_SERVER3\VBRCatalog

Is this a supported way, meaning to place the VBR Catalog on a share ?

Thank you for any hints !

Best Regards

Hello falkob.

Shared folder path wont work. Try to mount the shared volume as a folder and use the regular OS path. Another option would be to create a dedicated volume on your storage server for every backup server and connect in via iSCSI.
