Can Veeam B&R free version support Start-VBRHvRestoreVM?

Hi Community,

I have some doubt on running Start-VBRHvRestoreVM feature on Veeam B&R free version. Just want to confirm if Veeam B&R free version support this feature. As I know, they will need a parameter name Get-VBRRestorePoint which I get a null value on it.

Hi Ongz and welcome to the community!

As far as I know the most of functionality available through the GUI can be called out by using cmdlets.
The Start and Restore operations are not limited in the VBR free version and should be available by using Powershell. Thanks!

Thanks for the prompt reply, however I would like to clarify another things which is whether backup VM by right click on it and select "VeeamZip to C:\...." will create any restore point? And if "yes", may I know how to view it on the interface?

It should create a restore point that can be gotten with Get-VBRRestorePoint cmdlet. Thanks.

Hi v.Eremin,

I have try the command "Get-VBRRestorePoint" on Veeam B&R PowerShell Toolkit but it doesn't return anything..is it because i didn't run the backup using a "created job"? Since as I know Veeam B&R free version doesn't support this "Create Backup Job" feature.

Honestly I have tried that on paid installation only.

Chances are, on a free server VeeamZIP points don't get registered and thus don't get returned by the said cmdlet.

Looks like you cannot automate restore operations on free edition.
