System Requirements for Tape Encryption

Post by Fezanator »

Hi,

I would require tape encryption for risk/ security management purposes. I did read in the best practice guide that encryption happens source-side. Given this, I would assume that it is the proxy server that handles this service/ job. Given that this is an extra process and can be process heavy, what is the suggested "additional" infrastructure requirement for the proxy server (assuming it's a physical server) that I need to consider so as not to slow down the backup and restore process?

Regards,

Target component is responsible for data encryption. Depending on type of encryption used (hardware or software), it's either tape device or tape server that encrypts data.

You can check tape server system requirements here.

Thanks.
