VMFS5 vs 6

Post by Outlaw »

Hello

I have several hosts with 5.5 and 6.5 ESXi and several datastore.
What vmfs on 6.5 hosts ? Whether there will be problems at restoration from different file system ?

Nope, there shouldn't be any problems.

Veeam technology runs independant from any VMFS version as long as the used hosts support the vmfs version for their datastores.
You can restore/replicate from one vmfs verions to another without limitations.

The only limitation is that you can not restore a brand new VM hardware version to a host that support not the used VM hardware version.
