Error Backing

Hi all,

last night I suddenly got a Failure message from a Remote Repository/Hypervisor while backing up his two running VMs. I checked the VPN tunnel for errors, but i couldn't find anything.
We are using incremental Backup, so the Incrementals get merged into the Full Backup every night. At this point it it must have been crashed.

Full backup file merge failed Error: ChannelError: TimedOut
Failed to compact full backup file Details: The RPC server is unavailable. RPC function call failed. Function name: [InvokerTestConnection]. Target machine: [IP-Address]

Does anyone know the meaning or cause of this interruption?

I analyzed the logs files of the hypervisor more accurate.
The HV had DNS issues last night. Maybe that has caused the failure.
