Change External disk backup

Post by chapsteph »

HI,

We need to change our externals disk backup by bigger disks.
There is a procedure for that ?
Or just copy the old disks on news disks ?
Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community chapsteph.

If the question is in rebuilding the repository, then yes you can migrate all the content to a newer disk and then point your backup job to a new repository. You should also perform job mapping to continue the existing backup chains.

Hi,

OK thank you, it's necessary to make a new repository.
The old repository can't take in account the new disks ?

Best regards.

Provided path to the target folder doesn't change, you do not need to create a new repository. Just copy existing files to a bigger disk and you're good to go.
