vCenter restore

Post by mlange »

Trying to restore my vCenter server. I've already added the host as outlined here, but when I try to do the restore I get "Failed to login to '$server' by SOAP, port 443, user 'vsphere.local\$user', proxy srv: port:0." It seems to me that it's trying to connect to my host with the vCenter credentials which don't exist on that host. Is there a way to change the credentials it uses when trying to do the restore?

It does, in fact, look like it is trying to use vCenter credentials. Did you add the host individually? Can you browse it from the console? Are you sure you selected the individual host during the restore? If this is urgent, I would recommend opening a support ticket.

Yes, I added the host individually and I can browse it from the console. I get the message when I try to select the host as the resource pool.

Matt, please contact support for further assistance. I'd appreciate if you share the case ID for further reference.
