Is it possible to exclude VM(s) from SureBackup job?

Post by hyvokar »

I've set up VBR to backup our entire vmware cluster, excluded some VMs that are not needed.
However, every now and then VBR fails and retries couple of time and/or keeps running longer than expected.

Sometimes it overlaps with our Surebackup and starts to backup VMs that are launched from the backup storage.
I'd like to have an option to automatically exclude these VMs.

Same problem again. Backup job reported as failed, since it cannot backup VMs launched by sure backup.
How to prevent this?

afaik there is no option to exclude a VM from a Surebackup Job if the backup file is in use.
Trying to shorter your backup window could be a solution?

Had a quick support session.
You can exclude the Virtual lab resource pool from the backup job. That should take care of the problem.
