Changing the time zone of the Veeam Server

Post by marius roma »

I need to delay the start of all the jobs managed by a given Veeam B&R server by 2 hours for a limited time.
So, for example, a job scheduled to start at 20:00 will start at 22:00.
I could obviously change the schedule of each job and then revert it to the original schedule.
I am considering as well a temporary solution based on simply changing the time zone of the server from GMT+1 to GMT-1.
At that point I can expect to see all the jobs start 2 hours later.
The server is not member of any AD domain so I can change the time zone quite simply.
Is there anything to consider before applying the change?
Can I face any problem as either the VMware hosts and the HPE StoreOnce repository will keep the current time zone?
Is there any other solution I should consider to temporarely dlay my jobs?
Regards
Marius

Hi Mario,

First of all you should stop all the activities/jobs on the backup server before the change.
Ideally, I'd recommend you to stop backup services and reboot the server after the time zone will be changed, to be on the safe side.
Another approach is to edit schedules for all jobs by using PowerShell script. Thanks!

Would changing the time zone even work? Wouldn't you actually have to change the clock?

Yes, it should work.
When you change the time zone of the server from GMT +1 to GMT -1 the time will be changed according to it automatically. Thanks!
