Feature request: perform full backup to a new location

Post by m.novelli »

Suppose that I have some backup jobs defined on my Veeam server
I want connect an external USB disk drive to the Veeam server and perform a one-time full backup to export
Feature request: right click an existing backup job and click "Perform Full Backup to new location"
Thanks

Marco, thanks for the feedback. But you can already do this by just changing the backup destination target and running a full run, however the subsequent job run after changing backup target back to the default location will also be full and will generate a new backup chain.

I understand that this might not be what you've wanted, but it still works.

Yes, not exactly what needed... I need to connect again to backup server and revert back to original destination folder after the backup runs

And If I'm using the incremental backup mode I suppose I would get an error if I don't copy to the new location some VBK and VIB files

So the updated feature request should be: right click an existing backup job and click "Perform Full Backup to new location using reverse incremental mode"

Thanks,

Marco
