Linux Agent with DDBoost Veeam Repository Support

Post by jjtechtech »

Please make this functionality available in future releases:
Linux Agent with DDBoost Veeam Repository Support

I would really like this to be our company's only backup product but would like to standardize on DDBoost when writing to Data Domains.

Second this one.

Until this is implemented we can't start using Veeam for hardware servers also.

Is there a date (roughly) when we can expect this? We're in the process of configuring a new backup system & we would like to know if it's worth hanging on for a bit or if we need to move on to another product.

Hi,

It's unlikely that the feature will be introduced in 2018

Thanks

Hi all,

Does anyone knows if the functionality is developed already? I am trying to create backups of a physical linux machine (with an agent) and I only see the default repository - the disks of our Veeam backup machine. The Data domain is just not shown as an option (it is a DDboost device).

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, the functionality has been developed and is being tested at the moment. If the tests will show that everything is OK, then the functionality will make it to the next versions.

Thanks!

Hello,
yes, DDboost is supported for Veeam Agent for Linux, as long as it is managed by Veeam Backup & Replication.

The traffic flow then is: Veeam Agent for Linux --> gateway server defined in Veeam Backup & Replication --> Data Domain

Best regards,
Hannes
