Sorry about that Frank, but those beta spots are quite limited indeed.

Hi!
We are very satisfied Veeam customers but we'll start to explore another backup solutions because we can't wait indefinitely for Veeam-AHV support to come out.
Do you have an ETA?
Thanks in Advance

Is my inderstanding correct that all the features applicable to backups in VBR repository will come automatically available for AHV backups? (just like it was for Agent backups) I mean Backup to Tape, WAN acceleration etc.

@Denis this is true, AHV backups are seen as VBK files so Backup Copy, Tape Jobs etc are all available for onwards retention. Release notes outline full capabilities.

Any ETA on a expected release? My account rep told me that there weren't any spots available in the beta. I'm in the middle of a ESX to a Nutanix AHV migration and the agent backup method isn't very appealing. Knowing that a release isn't too far off will help me decide if i have to look at another vendor for handling my backups.

Thanks guys. A few weeks is a lot nicer than Q3/Q4. I understand if you can't answer this but will I need to crack open the piggy bank for the support/product?

You will have to purchase a license for this product, if this is what you mean.

Jarvis, Your aligned SE for the beta or sales people will be able to give you the detail on the licensing model.

It will be based on a per-vm licensing model, but they will be able to give you more details on that.

i have been told numerous times that my sales rep will call, then regional sales, then directors. no one touched base. my sub is expiring in 30 days and am looking at alternatives since no one seems to care enough to at least reach out.

Frank, please PM me what city and country are you from? I want to forward this feedback to the corresponding regional VP. This behavior obviously needs to be fixed on our side. Thanks and very sorry for our sales in your region!

Do you have a solid date when this will be release? I'm close to moving all my VMs to AHV and will have to take my business elsewhere if it is not available soon. Please advise.

We are in the same boat. Half of our servers are now running on AHV and I have to rely on Nutanix data protection snapshots for backups but this is not legit long term and fails on some of our requirements. We are likely to move to Commvault or Netbackup if AHV compatibility is unlikely this year. I saw some news about Veeam and Nutanix partnership but since then...zippo on AHV support. If they want to retain customers they need to move quicker. I love Veeam until this point but now I will be forced to opt for something else if I can no longer perform backups. Their loss...

Yes, still weeks Vladimir, but 2 weeks than in my previous update :D we're addressing final pieces of feedback from beta around performance, as most beta users felt it should be improved in the GA version. Other than that, there are no blockers. Thanks!

From the wording of this live webinar https://www.veeam.com/veeamlive/new-sta ... x-ahv.html it looks like we won't see the product until July at the earliest.

Indeed, the solid solution to those performance issues reported by beta customers required us to make changes to Veeam Backup & Replication itself, so now our AHV integration requires Update 3a and cannot be shipped until Update 3a is GA. Which means will not be able to ship AHV integration in June, as originally planned. Thanks!

9.5 u3a is only available to Service Providers at the moment.

Normally a couple of weeks before its generally available.

Not sure if that means that the Nutanix support will be available at the same time, or whether its going to go to Service Providers first and then a couple of weeks after that for general availability.

Hi Veeam

We have also moved over in our entirety to Nutanix.
We have jumped the gun and commited to Nutanix in the hope that Veeam will be available by now, as it was initially said to be available in June 2018.
I would love it you could consider moving your developement priority higher on AHV Backups as we seriously need this ASAP.
We have currently a 24 Node Deployement which we foresee will grow in the near future yet again.

Kind Regards

With the upcoming Veeam Nutanix AHV Support for will it be possible to also backup AFS (Acropolis File Servies) shares?

If not is this on the roadmap?

Or is there any other way of backing up the shares?

It would be great if Veeam were to leverage the AFS APIs to extract the data by using the CFT (Change File Tracking) introduced in 5.6

Not related to AFS: what will be the minimum Version of AHV for Veeam to be able to backup AHV VMs? Is it 5.5 or 5.6?

Thanks!
