Credentials Manager

Post by marius roma »

I have lots of credentials and I need to delete the credential not used anymore.
With Credentials Manager (see https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95 I can delete credentials, however:
  • If I can delete a credentials record, can I be confident that such record is not used by any job or should I carefully check?
  • If I can't because the credentials record is used by any job, maybe an old VeeamZip job, and I am sure I can delete it, how can I force it to be deleted?
Regards

Hello Marius.

It's impossible to delete credentials that are in use. If click delete, you get a popup with all linked jobs listed.

There is no workaround. You must modify the job before deletion.

Many thanks for your answer.
I see credentials associated to very old VeeamZip jobs: how can I find and delete them?

Since VeeamZIP backups are ad-hoc only, I guess that the credentials which you see are associated with VeeamZIP-generated backup files. You need to delete the files from the configuration.

Thanks

I apologize for the very basic question, but how can I delete the files from the configuration?
