FEAT. REQ.:

Post by sthimonier »

Hi Veeam,

In the proxy traffic rules, could you add a checkbox to prevent VBR from failing over to any network it can possibly find (such as the production network)? That way VBR forced to use the one(s) explicitly listed in the rules list. Not doing so really waters down the benefit of using rules.

We have a production network and a backup network. We want VBR traffic to flow exclusively on the (encrypted) backup network and never be allowed to pollute the production network.

Further, in the area which handles preferred networks, could you add an UP and DOWN arrow so as to allow the admin to instruct VBR which network to use first before failing over to another one?

Last but not least, could you dissociate the menus for traffic rules and preferred networks, so they do not confuse the admin by thinking they are inter-dependent (required for each other to work)?

It really shouldn't be hard to implement into the product, but it would make a huge difference for any organization which legitimately wants to mitigate backup traffic through adequate, dedicated paths.

Thanks Gostev and all,

Steph.

PS: Does the person submitting a feature request get notified it this ever gets approved? Or do we have to just wait and check from version to version?

Hello,

There is no notification on the feature approval. The more requests and support it gets from other forum members, then the higher chances are for this feature to make it to the release. Thank you for the FR!
