NO LAN RESTORE

Post by jamerson »

We've been trying this and it works really great. its generous of the VEEAM team to provide this as free of charge.
it does remind of the old days with Norton Ghost.
We hit a issue now, most of our users are on go and have a laptop without LAN connection.
Can we restore entier system using Wifi connection ? i've tried to restore but it doesn't connect because there is no wifi adapter.

Thank you

Hello Julien.

Yes BMR thru WiFi is fully supported but you must have the WiFi adapter drivers in the Recovery Media - so it's recommended to use Recovery Media created on the particular machine your are going to restore.

Thank you for your answer.
Can we add the drivers after when the usb already booted ?
or really need to create a bootable media from the same machine with the same drivers ?

Yes, its possible. Just click Load Drivers in network adapter settings, and select the desired driver (you can load them from USB stick). See this article for more details. Cheers!

Please make sure that driver version matches the recovery media version: recovery media is created based on Windows components from your original operating system, so if you used Windows 7 to create it WiFi drivers should be for Windows 7 as well.

This on Windows 10 OS Pro.
While creating the media we chose to select also the installed drivers of the OS located on C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
like this the ISO will created with injected drivers.
but it still not willing to load the Wifi drivers.
i've tried this on a different computer with different hardware and is the same issue. LAN does works fine but WIFI not.

In Recovery Media when you go under Tools > Load Driver and perform the driver installation what would be the status of WiFi adapter? Do you see any errors or warnings while you are installing the driver? Thank you.
