Hello, currently three have a backup job with its copy job, the issue i am facing is that it used to create the files where the name would be "backup copy_w, backup copy_m, backup copy_z" now it does create the daily files, the weekly and monthly files but it does not follow the previous name structure. I read that if a full backup job was scheduled the same day a weekly job should run veeam was not going to create the weekly file, instead it would create a full backup file. The configuration for the jobs is as follows:
-----------------------------------------
Backup Job 1
>Restore points to keep: 7
>Backup mode: Incremental with synthetic full backups periodically created on Sunday
Copy Job 1
>Copy every day at 6:00am
>Restore points to keep: 4
>Weekly backup: 3 every Saturday
>Monthly backup: 12 first Saturday of the month
>Yearly backup: 7 First Saturday of the year
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
Backup Job 2
>Restore points to keep: 7
>Backup mode: Incremental with synthetic full backups periodically created on Sunday
Copy Job 2
>Copy every day at 2:00am
>Restore points to keep: 7
>Weekly backup: 3 every Saturday
>Monthly backup: 12 first Saturday of the month
>Yearly backup: 7 First Saturday of the year
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
Backup Job 3
>Restore points to keep: 7
>Backup mode: Incremental with synthetic full backups periodically created on Friday
Copy Job 3
>Copy every day at 10:00am
>Restore points to keep: 7
>Weekly backup: 3 every Sunday
>Monthly backup: 3 first Sunday of the month
>Yearly backup: 1 First Sunday of the month
-----------------------------------------
Also i made the changes a week ago, so at least for one of the jobs the number of restore points must have exceeded thus creating the weekly file, or am i wrong? Does this configuration affects the creation of the weekly, monthly, yearly files?

Re: Weekly, Monthly, Yearly backup files
Hello Jonathan,
Can you please clarify which approach was selected for GFS restore point creation? Was the checkbox 'Read the entire restore point from source instead of synthesizing it from increments' checked in copy job settings. Thank you in advance.

Re: Weekly, Monthly, Yearly backup files
Jonathan,
When enabled backup mode will be changed to forever incremental backup (take a look a the retention Policy for Active Full Archive Backups and Active Weekly Full Backups articles), as a result GFS full backup is going to be created from production on the given day. You either use this option to create full backup at the given day, or stick with forever forward incremental backup approach and wait when full backup from existing backup chain becomes archival restore point.

Hello,
I enabled the option you mentioned on the job that runs faster to see if that gives out the result I am looking for, I'll keep you updated
