What to do after installing veeam backup & replication 9.5

Post by jadLEBANON »

Hi guys,

i need your help please, after i installed veeam backup and replication version 9.5, i need to know what are the next steps in order to be ready to test a backup job or backup to tape job .

based on many researches , i read a lot about ESXi and Vsphere ; available resources are ''2 i7 test PCs'' with 16gb RAM each.

i really appreciate your replies .

Thank you in advance,

Jad.

Hello and welcome to the community Jad.

1. After Veeam B&R is installed you should add backup objects to the console: VMware, Hyper-V or physical hosts.
2. Configure backup repository and backup proxies. You can use default backup repository and proxy (which would be backup server) for testing purposes.
3. Since you are taking about tape support, is to connect your tape device to Veeam B&R console and configure tape media pools.
4. Now you can configure backup jobs of desired type and test how backup works.
