Not enough licenses for replication, but no license is used

Post by zintek »

Hi,

I just installed Backup & Replication 9.5
I have created my first replication job but I got the error "Not enough licenses".

In the License window I clicked "Manage" as suggested in other posts but I found the the hosts licensed is 1, the used is zero and the remaining is 1. The list of used licenses is empty.

Where I am wrong?

Thanks.

Hello Stefano.

What type of license you are referring too? Is that trial socket based license for Veeam B&R? Thanks.

Hello Dima,

the license data are the following:
Status: Valid
Expiration Date: 13/06/2028
Type: Perpetual
Edition: Standard Edition
CPU sockets (vSphere): 1
CPU sockets (Hyper V): 0
Protected VMs: 0
Support expiration date: 11/09/2019

I was trying my first replica with a VM from one host to the other one we have.

Thanks.

Does your source host have more than 1 physical socket?

Thanks Regnor,

the problem is just that!

The source host has two sockets, both used, while the destination host has two sockets but only one used.
Following your question, I just tried to replicate a VM from the host with one CPU to the one with two CPUs and it worked!

I will ask my reseller to upgrade the license to two sockets! It should be enough to work, right?

Thanks again!

Yes that's right.
For replication you need to license the (used) physical sockets from your source host.
