All instances of the storage metadata are corrupted

Hi, we are using Veeam Agent for Windows 2.1.0.423 Free Edition on a virtual (VMware Sphere) Windows Server 2016. The backup target is a USB HDD which is connected at a NAS via SMB. For a very long time the backup worked without any problems but since a couple of days, we are only able to make full backups. Every incremental backup fails with the following errors:

We already bought new USB HDDs and rebooted the NAS - unfortunately this did not help us to solve the issue.

Any ideas?

This is one issue when you don't usually need support, as it typically indicates severe storage-level corruption that hit all copies of metadata stored in the backup file twice for redundancy. You can search Veeam Backup & Replication forum for a more detailed explanation. But essentially, you need to perform new backups, preferably to a new backup storage - as your current backup storage should not be trusted any longer. Thanks!

Hi, but we already changed the USB HDDs ... it seems that we can not open a ticket because we only use the Veeam Agent free edition ...

The issue is likely with your NAS, not with USB hard drives attached to one. Using SMB to write to a low end NAS is the top source of storage-level corruptions we're seeing in support.
