Hello,
we tried to restore a template but it failed with error:
"Converting template 'Template" to machine
Permission to perform this operation was denied.
I searched the documentation center for missing permissions in VCenter, but could not find anything.

Is there a mistake in the documentation or I did I something wrong?
Am I right, that in the restore process the template will be converted to a vm and after the restore back to template?
Regards

Re: Permissions to restore templates
Hi Ollo.
Root permission to your vCenter server is all that matters. Can you confirm that your vCenter was added with root account and you are restoring to the same vCenter server?we tried to restore a template but it failed with error:
"Converting template 'Template" to machine
Permission to perform this operation was denied.
Yup. Template is restored as VM and then converted back to template.Am I right, that in the restore process the template will be converted to a vm and after the restore back to template?
