Backing up a NAS box

Post by neilmurphy65 »

Hi.

I have a customer who has a couple of QNAP NAS servers that he'd like to backup. I know that VBR 9.5 U4 may have NDMP support. Unfortunately the QNAP OS doesn't include NDMP. The work-around I've come up with is to install StarWind VTL and then use the VBR file to tape job. What I'd like to know is:

1. Will this be a workable solution?
2. Will it be supported by Veeam?

Cheers,
Neil.

Hello Neil.

Yes, file to tape in conjunction with VTL is a valid solution and it's fully supported. Cheers!
