Full Backups Date modified is changing

Post by ccrichard »

I've noticed my full backup (vbk) files are changing their modified date every night. This concerned me because I was going to start copying them from my main backup storage to either tape or another HD system.

What I am going to do is copy the file the night of the full backup and then do a md5sum on both the original and the copy. I will then do an md5sum on the vbk everyday.

Sorry, this isn't a question, just a journal at this point, but I am willing to take suggestions.

Are you using reversed incremental backup mode?

I am not doing Reverse Incrementals. I am also not doing synthetic fulls with traditional incrementals. HOWEVER, I am using a deduplicating NAS. I will do some md5summing and post if they are different after the next backup.
