Veeam Agent for Windows Free... Estimate of full backup size

Post by Hariseldon1 » 1 person likes this post

Is there any way Veeam Agent for Windows "Free" can provide an estimation of the storage space need to perform a stand alone full backup?

The nature of a "estimation" is not a 100% perfectly reliable guaranteed answer.... it is a educated best questimate as-the-crow-flies comput-calcuation of how more storage space is needed to store a one time standalone backup of the agent backup configuration

simply: I know veeam is really amazingly gosh darn fantastic about dedup/compression for backup job files!

I don't assume I am "the-sharpest-knife-in-the-drawer" when it comes to anticipating backup storage requirements

Any helpful tools that can give me any better insight would be amazing!

(if this doesn't exist now... can it be a command line feature request?... please?)

Hello Hari.

There is no such estimate in the UI, however we usually estimate full backup size to be 50% of your raw data size. Hope it helps, cheers!
