Restore data from a cloud connect on a VAL managed

Post by bbruno »

Hello everyone,

I manage multiple hundred of Linux servers backups with a VBR 9.5u3 and VAL 2.0.1
The backups jobs are launch by the VBR an dsend to a repository on the same location. After that, a copyjob send the backups on a Cloud Provider Repo.

For the data restore, on a VAL manage, we don't have the possibility to import backups so we use a server with VAL standalone to import backup. With the TUI, we don't have problems but we want to do this with CLI to automate this and after the veeamconfig cloud add, we don't find any possibility to import the backups and point locate on the cloud repository (we can see this repo with veeamconfig repository list)

Does anyone know how to import backups and points from this repo ?

I have a Case # 03138386

Hi,

What credentials did you use to connect to cloud repo, was it tenant credentials? After you add the cloud repository in VAL using veeamconfig you should be able to list all backups.

Thanks

Hi PTide,

Yes I use tenant credentials, the same than the copyjob.

This is the different return of veeamconfig :
veeamconfig cloud list
Name ID Address Gate servers Username
[vccs01.xxxx.tech] xxxx-internal {fe79bbd6-3d3e-4f8a-b664-6776cdaac59c} vccs01.xxxx.tech:6180 xx.xx.xx.xx:6180; xx.xx.xx.xx:6180; xx.xx.xx.xx:6180 xxxx-internal
veeamconfig repository list
Name ID Location Type Backup server
[VCCS01.xxxx.TECH][xxxx-internal]OVH-VRBK-LIM {4f2b3418-84c0-46d6-b11f-d18a264e040d} [vccs01.xxxx.tech] xxxx-internal cloud
veeamconfig backup list
Job name Backup ID Repository Created at
veeamconfig point list
Veeam Agent for Linux
(c) Veeam Software AG

Usage: veeamconfig point list [options] [command]

Commands:
help, --help, -h - Short help

Options:
--backupId <value> - Restore point ID

That looks unexpected, backups are expected to be imported automatically once you add a cloud repository. Please try to perfrom forced rescan. Meanwhile I'll check with QA team and will update this thread afterwards.

Thank you.

Hello PTide,

Thank you for your answer.
veeamconfig repository rescan --name [VCCS01.xxxx.TECH][xxxx-internal]OVH-VRBK-LIM
[Warning] Master key not found.
[Warning] Master key not found.
[Warning] Master key not found.
[VCCS01.xxxx.TECH][xxxx-internal]OVH-VRBK-LIM repository rescanned successfully.
But after that
veeamconfig backup list
Job name Backup ID Repository Created at

QA has reproduced the described behaviour, the issue seems to be a wierd bug and will be investigated. By the way - do you use VBR 9.5 U3, or U3a?

Thanks
