Safe to upgrade vmware to 6.7 ?
Hello,
Is it safe to upgrade to vmware 6.7 (vcenter and hosts) ? What is the best way to prevent a new backup chain creation ?
Thanks.
Marco.

just upgrade - dont deploy a new vcenter server. basically, you dont want a new database.

Re: Safe to upgrade vmware to 6.7 ?
That's what I thought. I'm wondering if there's an issue with veeam and 6.7 that would make me consider staying à 6.0. From the newsletter we get, I'm under the impression that 6.5 is to be skipped if possible.
Thanks.
Thanks.

im on 6.5, and have not had an issue in my environment. but i would certainly go with what veeam is recommending. im sure a veeam guy will chime in and give you the best answer on that front.

I'm on 6.7, have had zero issues since deployment. Also enjoying the fully-featured HTML5 client, a lot.

You are safe to upgrade to 6.7 both vCenter and Hosts according to the customers experience shared through the forum and the one we've seen in our internal labs.
Just keep in mind you should use the VMware native upgrade which guarantees you preserving databases.
When you need to check whether Veeam supports a specific version you are interested in, you can go and find it in the Release Notes.
Also, you should always find actual information in the sticky thread. Thanks!

I can also add that those customers that are already on 6.7 don't have any problems.
