Can you take a backup from a USB boot key?

Post by WhiskerBiscuit »

I’ve previously used Acronis for my imaging solutions. Whenever I get a new notebook, I always boot to the Acronis USB key and take a full image backup of the OS drive before I even boot to the OS. Can this be done with Veeam? To me it’s a crucial feature in any imaging backup solution.

No, we don't provide the ability to perform a backup from Recovery Media today. Thanks!

Hi Hank.

You can take a full backup right after Veeam Agent for Windows is installed. Once setup process is completed it prompts you to connect USB device and start a predefined 'entire computer' backup job to such USB device. Cheers!
