Disk Export to vCenter vm

Post by boar »

Hello,

i would like to export a virtual hard disk from a Windows Agent backup and integrate it into another virtual machine (vsphere).
Is that possible?
What do I need to consider?
Unfortunately, I have not yet found a suitable clue.

-Veeam B&R 9.5
-Veeam Agent for Windows 2.2.0.589 (managed)
-VMware vcenter 5.5.0

Hey there.

As long as the Agent backup target is a Veeam Repository then this is completely doable.

This should help: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=21

hi anthony,

I have now exported the hard drive to the directory of the VM, the step is well documented. Now the hard drive has the VMDK name of the old server.
That is my real concern in this process.
Can you rename?
Should they even rename so that there is no inconsistency?

You should be able to attach any VMDK to an existing/new VM without issue. But you also rename through vCenter.
