Server 2016 CSV IOPs

Post by xdmon »

Hi,

We currently monitor two 2016 clusters and have noticed that the CSV's on both clusters report IOPs in the 000's whereas a quick tally of VM IOPS shows only 100-150 IOPS which is backed up by the volume performance data on the SAN.

Any idea, it seems to be grossly out!

Thanks,

Numbers are tricky with Hyper-V. I like to look at the cluster with Veeam ONE to get a view of the storage performance.

If you have any concern on the backup impact of production I/O - you can use Backup I/O Control to limit read latency on the source datastore during backup: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry I think I missed some useful info off my first post.

We monitor the cluster with Veeam One. Veeam One reports IOPS in the 000's for the CSV's whereas the SAN and also a tally of IOPS from the individual VMs from within Veeam One shows IOPs in the 100-200 range for the same CSV. It looks like the IOP counter in Veeam One for the CSV is off by a large factor.

Thanks,

Hi Richard,
While we are checking the behavior with QA, what product version are you at?

same behavior on 2019 server. The correct values can only be seen on the tab directed/redirected iops.
