Dear All,
I wonder if Veeam Backup for Office365 supports the restore of sites FROM SharePoint Online TO a SharePoint OnPremise.
I'm currently in a test phase of the O365 agent and backed up several SharePoint Online sites.
Now when I try to restore them, the only option is to restore again to a Online site.
Does anyone know if that is supported?
Thank you,
Christoph

Re: Restore SharePoint Online to OnPremise
Christoph,
It is not. Due to the differences. In the background we are investigating if this can be solved, but at this moment the way the templates and such work, it is not directly possible I'm afraid

Re: Restore SharePoint Online to OnPremise
Mike,
Thank you for the quick response.
So the only way to extract data from a SharePoint Online backup is to export it to file system?
This would only be possible for document libraries and I guess it causes the loose of SharePoint specific metadata and permissions.
And SharePoint lists can not be exported.

Yes, that is correct I'm afraid. While it is said that O365 runs a version of SharePoint on-premises in the cloud, the truth is that it is a modified version and not everything is matching
