Post by hostman »

Looking at backing up a QNAP server to a veeam repo, is this supported?

What kind of data are you hosting on QNAP ? Just some Files. VMs,...
What is the protocol used to access these files?

Hi James - yes, it is supported. I'm also working on some content around leveraging QTier with our alliance teams. But "straight" iSCSI LUN or file share should be completely transparent to Veeam.

As always, you know how we are about the 3-2-1 rule - so keep that in mind:

-Have 3 different copies of data
-On 2 different meida
-1of which is off-site

Throw a hyper-available twist to the rule... 3-2-1-1-0 rule:

-Have 3 or more different copies of data
-On 2 different meida
-1 of which is off-site
-1 of which is offline
-Have 0 errors by using Veeam SureBackup

3-2-1-1-0 is the ZIP code of the ultimate availability experience!
