OneDrive: Failed to backup item: , The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found
Hi,
During backup of a OneDrive client, i get "Failed to backup item: , The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found" on these files:
/documents/pictures/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/WebUIValidation.js...
/documents/pictures/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/SmartNav.js...
/documents/pictures/aspnet_client/system_web/1_1_4322/SmartNav.htm...
This is due to invalid file or directory names:
https://support.office.com/en-us/articl ... characters
But what are the invalid path/file name?
Regards
Robert

Hi Robert,
This might occur due to the invalid file/directory names, but there could be other root causes as well. Since the links you provided don't seem to contain any of the unsupported symbols, please let our support engineers investigate the logs for troubleshooting. As usual, take a moment to post your case ID here.
Thanks!

Robvil, did you try updating to 2.0.0.594? The KB article says it fixes a 404 error, so it probably is what you need. You have to download and install it manually because Veeam does not consider this an "update."

Hi Robert,
I have been told that your case is closed, those files initially were not available in your ODFB and after their removal from the job, backup ran successfully. Is that correct?

Sort of, we deleted the files from ODFB site. We could not even access the files via a direct link in the browser.
So lesson learned is - always check if a browser can reach the files first.

Well, that makes sense, since if a file cannot be accessed, VBO won't be able to access it either.
Thank you for getting back on this!
