Hyper-V VM Subnets?

Hi folks

We have one physical server running Veeam and some Hyper-V servers hosting VM's. Hyper-V hosts are managed servers in Veeam & backup is to NAS box via file shares or to SAN using iSCSI if needed.

Question is how to subnet the backup process away from our existing user network for maximum throughput. For a seperate subnet containing VM server, HV hosts and repositories, do the actual VM's need a another IP as well?

I had thought that the backup process was run directly off the HV hosts and no "user IP" network was involved? That the VM server just ran the backup via the host?

Any ideas?

To keep backup traffic separated from the production network you should specify network rules

No, they don't. Here is the list of required ports for Guest OS. Those connections will be done via VM network. If you want to direct management traffic via another network too, then you need to deploy Guest Interaction Proxy.
