Exchange Backup Showing Deleted Contents
Hi All,
I’ve searched the forums first, but don’t see a post that is similar to what I’m seeing.
When I use Exchange Explorer to look at the latest, or point in time backups, I’m seeing folders and data that was deleted about 6 months ago appearing in the view.
My understanding of the point in time view is it is supposed to only show the mailbox state at that point in time.
Just checking if others have seen similar before I raise a support ticket.
No, I’ve not ticked the box to show “user deleted items”. It looks like the backup data is corrupted.
Thanks in advance.
James

Re: Exchange Backup Showing Deleted Contents
Hi James,
I've double checked on this with our QA team: Such behavior indeed might be seen in v2; however, in no way, this means your backup data is corrupted. Your backups are still safe and good for restore.
We'll fix this inconsistency in the next version.
Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me, as always. I love how responsive and helpful the team is here.
Thank you for the reassurance, I really didn’t want to lose almost 2 years of historical backup (one of the big reasons I selected your product).
When I didn’t see a response from anyone for almost a day I thought I should log an incident (03300017).
Hopefully a hot fix or the next version isn’t too far away.

James,
During the weekends there can be some delays with responses; my apologies for that.
I'll get in touch with our support and R&D on your case and see what we can do for now.
Thanks!

No need for any apologies, I have ZERO complaints for Veeam, I think you do great.
This is compared to my experience at work where I’ve been logging Microsoft Premier Support calls a lot recently. We pay a lot for their “premier” support, and yours is soooooo much better!
