Backup Copy Job with more then one Source Backup

Post by westCPS »

Hello!

The Scenario is the following:
We split the Backup of a large File-Server in to Backup jobs, 'cause there wasn't enough place on the Repository.
So in FS-Backup_A Disk 1 and 2 are included and in FS-Backup_B Disk 3 and 4 are included. They are running fine.
So now we want to make a backup copy job to a VCSP. We found out that in the Target-Backup File there are only 2 Disks
of the File-Server included (the latest one of course). We change the setting from Infrasteructure to Backup-Jobs, but it didn't solve
this issue :-(

Is there another way, to copy all 4 disks with this one Backup Copy Job (there other VMs included too which are fine), or must we setup
a second job with the other Job a Source?

Best regards for any information
Werner

Hi Werner, you need two backup copy jobs that are pointed to the corresponding source backup jobs, otherwise the backup copy job will take the latest VM restore point between the two source chains regardless of what disks are stored there - it will be a mess. Nothing to say about consistency, since there's a little chance both source backups were performed simultaneously.
