SQL Server does not truncate Log´s

Post by Elpretension »

Hey Guys,

i have an issue with my current SQL Server Backup. The logs will not be truncated. I dont have any ideas what caused this issue.

Code: Select all

Unable to truncate Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs. Details: Failed to call RPC function 'Vss.TruncateSqlLogs': Error code: 0x80004005.
Failed to invoke func [TruncateSqlLogs]: Unbekannter Fehler. Failed to process 'TruncateSQLLog' command. Failed to truncate SQL server transaction logs for instances: CLUSQL04 UC4P. See guest helper log. .
Where i can see anything about this ? I Think every with security is fine.

Regards,

Prete

Hi Elpretension,

You may want to go to your SQL Server and locate the Guest Helper Log File on C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\YOURJOBNAME\ -> actual guest helper log file.

Mostly this error is thrown, if the permissions on the SQL Server are not properly set with the user backing it up.

Best Regards !

Hello Elpretension,

That does not look expected, so I recommend you to raise a case with our support team. Please share the case ID once you have it. Cheers!
