I am building a new off-domain, off-site repository server for GFS and am considering Win10 Workstation (for ReFS feature), over a Server OS. Initially I had considered this server to just be a repo for backups, but now wondering if I could push Veeam Replicas too (from Hyper-V 2012 R2 host).
Is Win 10 Workstation suitable...
as a ReFS repo?
for receiving incremental backups and transforming to GFS?
for receiving Veeam replicas from Hyper-V 2012 R2?
I was referring to "Windows 10 Pro for Workstations" to give it its full title. It seems that the recent Windows update removed ReFS creation from Pro and made it a 'Workstation' and 'Enterprise' version feature only...https://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-i ... rs-update/
Thanks for the tip about using Hyper-V. I presume I can create Storage Spaces + ReFS volume on that to use as a repo?? I'll test and update this topic.
