I am trying to setup my backup service account for Veeam for O365 by setting up the permissions manually according to the document at https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo36 ... tml?ver=20. After applying all those management roles, I got an error failing to grant application access to Microsoft Graph. I am trying to use the custom application per the best practice documentation.
Can you assist? I suspect I need to add another permission, even if it is temporary.

Hi Jacob,
To grant a custom application the required permissions to access MS Graph, your service account has to be configured as a Global administrator, Application administrator or a Cloud application administrator.
