vAPP Backup - Multiple VMs
I have a VBR server with multiple jobs for 3 separate VMs that are approximately 12-14TB in size each. The jobs reference the vAPP that all 3 VMs are part of.
Question - when the first job runs it seems to lock the vAPP and the other 2 jobs wait on resources before kicking off. Is that expected behavior or is there a way to have all 3 jobs run at once without having to wait? The vAPP gets locked from what I can see.

Hi Chris,
Have you enabled parallel processing in VBR console?

Yes Parallel Processing is enabled in VBR. I think to get around this we are going to split the 3 VMs in to their own vAPP which we will then point each job to.

Ok! What are you using, by the way, VMware vSphere or vCloud Director infrastructure?

We are using vCD as we are an MSP.

Re: vAPP Backup - Multiple VMs
Why have you created separate jobs? Did you have special need for that?I have a VBR server with multiple jobs for 3 separate VMs that are approximately 12-14TB in size each.
You can have one job for 3 VMs, then VBR would process those vms in parallel.
Currently it is not possible to process vApp from multiple jobs. So it seems like a requirement update for the next version of the product, later I would keep vote for that.
